The Olympus Evolt E-620 SLR Digital Camera features a high resolution 12.3 megapixel Live-MOS image sensor, TruePic III+ processing and a flip-out 2.7" HyperCrystal III LCD. Autofocus Live View provides users with the choice of framing images through the viewfinder or the LCD. In addition to Face Detection, Shadow Adjustment, and In-body Image Stabilization, the E-620 features six newly developed Art Filters and in-camera multiple exposure, while an integrated anti-dust system keeps images spot free.
The Olympus Zuiko 14-42mm Digital Zoom Lens is a 3x standard zoom lens that features a closest focusing distance of only 25cm. Two aspherical lens elements correct aberrations.
The Olympus Zuiko 40-150mm Digital Zoom Lens is essentially a 300mm (35mm equivalent) lens in a short 7.2cm body with ED lens elements, ensuring both picture quality and portability.

Olympus E-620 Outfit
I purchased the Olympus E-620 Kit with the 14-42mm and 40-150mm zoom lenses as an replacement for my Olympus OM-2 35mm film camera. I was not disappointed with my choice. My first Olympus camera gave me decades of reliable service; I expect this new outfit will do the same and then some. I was concerned with the relatively small f stops for the lenses, less light, slower shutter speeds, but with the camera's stabilization capability, I have not had one blurred picture that was due to camera shake.
The economy of the purchase was also very favorable. When I reviewed my insurance records for my first Olympus camera, I discovered that this camera kit cost was 40% the expenditure of my film SLR purchased back in the 70's, but the new Digital SLR camera has 4 times the capability. (I converted 1970 dollar values to today's dollar, using a factor of 2x.)
My only warning to a prospective buyer: Be ready for the learning curve. I'm on my 6th reading of the manual, and feel as though I've just scratched the surface. Suggestion: Download the .pdf manual from the Olympus site, and print out a manual with a readable type size. The manual that ships with the camera is all but impossible to easily read.
